Close to home = you actually finish
A skipper course takes dozens of theory and practical hours. When the lesson is 10 minutes away you attend them all and finish on time; when it's an hour each way, the course drags on.
Posidon · Blue Marina Ashdod · since 1985
A yacht licence (Meshit 30) — study 10 minutes from home instead of driving to Haifa or Herzliya.
Blue Marina Ashdod · Pier 6
Most skipper schools sit in Herzliya and Haifa — so anyone living in Ashdod, Ashkelon, Be'er Sheva or Rehovot ends up driving an hour or more to every lesson. Posidon is at the Blue Marina Ashdod, training skippers from the south for 40 years.
The course is identical to our full course — 4 theory exams, a practical exam and training aboard a yacht — just without the coastal-road traffic. Theory is taught in the classroom aboard at the marina, and the practical sails straight from the pier into open sea.
Shlomo Asban, the merchant-navy officer who founded Israel's first sailing school, has taught here since 1985 — and thousands of graduates from Ashdod and the region already sail yachts across the Mediterranean.

A skipper course takes dozens of theory and practical hours. When the lesson is 10 minutes away you attend them all and finish on time; when it's an hour each way, the course drags on.
The Blue Marina opens onto the open sea — practical training sails straight into real sea conditions, exactly what the practical exam (and real life) demand.
40 years of knowing Ashdod's sea — its winds, waves and breakwater. 117 Google reviews at 4.7 stars tell the rest.
Morning, evening and weekend groups, Haredi groups and women-only groups — set by demand in the south, not by a Tel Aviv timetable.
